Evan Steenson is an emerging Canadian conceptual artist who works in digital
media. He is a member of the 1313 Gallery and lives and works in Toronto.
OUTPUT
Avoiding formalism and representation, Evan’s compositions present us with a
renegotiation of the art-as-object versus art-as-image discourse. Often presented
in series, each individual composition becomes an integral component in the
larger concept. As such, these works pose new questions around what it means
to create and display a visual concept.
AESTHETIC
The visual presentation of Evan’ s concepts oscillates from the bright, utopian
forms of geometric abstraction to the meta-modern, reconfigured and
hypermodified forms of our post millennial culture.
MEDIA
Evan works with a variety of broadly accessible design software, appropriating
and repurposing commercial tools as creative media. In doing so, his
compositions point to the literal and conceptual boundaries of “new” media, as
well as its inherent possibilities.
STATEMENT
My body of work to date invites a review, reinterpretation, and re-questioning
of the axioms of visual abstraction through the most important social lens of the
twenty-first century – the computer monitor.

Nathan Dube is a multi-instrumentalist with 17 years of experience in writing, recording and performing. As the lead guitarist of New England based Jamband Jabooda, (Jabooda),
Nathan has opened shows for Dickey Betts, Johnny Winter, Scott Murawski and many other legendary musicians. Fusing multiple genres, Nathan’s goal is to use music as a vehicle for self and cosmic exploration in the hope of inspiring and bringing joy to other human beings.

my color is red
vivid drops of ruby
poured over your skin
showers of ink and paint
dominated by shadows
in the light of antic flames
burning your heart
My name is pain
my color is orange
veins of flowing fluid
deep slopes of sharpness
in the cavities of time
pressing against your organs
extracting bitter tears
contracting your soul
My name is hope
my color is yellow
wires of metallic nets
needles of faith
spread around you
thin rays of thunder
conducting electricity
empowering your mind
My name is strength
my color is power
shades of acceptance
nuances of fight
depth of belief
brushes of inspiration
dipped in beauty
painting the canvas of life!
