Keep on going
look forward
at the end of an endless road
at the edge of a bridge
leading to another place
where you keep on going
hiding your tears in pockets
don’t stop you can’t stop
live today for tomorrow
for tomorrow is your day
keep your legs moving
your brain ticking
your heart beating
your breath short
run keep on running
take the next step after the next
keep on moving
may your memories be your fuel
may your pain be your strength
expand yourself
elastic
reach for the further you
freeze your fears
save your panic
flashes, lights
follow them
faster…
enlarge your space
make it wider
no limits
look up see the sky
keep its blue in your dreams
the pure white of the clouds in your mind
and … keep on going!
never turn back
the mirror of your soul
will reflect your past
the ways of your heart
will lead the journey!
Laura, I love the message of hope and perserverence! I always enjoy “handing your words back to you” because your words are so fully packed with meaning, imagery and truth.
“hiding your tears in pockets” is such a beautiful way to say keep moving in the midst of your pain and heartache and when I read:
“may your memories be your fuel
may your pain be your strength”
I had to stop and read it again and again. The words of a true poet concerning moments of both the head and the heart.
Again I stopped and sat in wonder as I read your words:
“look up see the sky
keep its blue in your dreams”
Unreal, the vivid picture this conjures up and at the same time the simplicity of peaceful calm in your dreams… dreams of hope and promise brought to focus by the serenity of the blue sky.
Again you left me breathless as I read from line to line. I anxiously await the publication of your book!
